The first session…
Often the fear of judgement, shame and guilt can stop people from seeking support. Understanding the challenges that come with reaching out, my aim is to create an accepting and safe space so you can share whatever is important to you.
At the beginning of the first session, there will be a form to complete, which provides information on confidentiality. After that, you will have the chance to share what has brought you to counselling and (if you know) perhaps what you are hoping to get out of our work together.
Please know, there is no right or wrong way to share your situation and there is certainly no expectation from my side regarding how the session unfolds.
The sessions are booked for an hour, to allow enough time for you and your situation. At the end of the session, you will have the choice if you’d like to book another appointment or not, knowing that you can always change your mind once you have left.
If you have any questions at any point, feel free to ask them and I will always do my best to answer them, which sometimes can mean that I will come back to them in the next session.
